Different Forms of Talbiyyah
1. لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ
وَالْمُلْكَ ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ
البخاري
Translation:
“Here I am, O Allah, at Your service. Here I am, You have no partner. Here I am. Truly, all praise and blessings are Yours, and so is the dominion. You have no partner.”
2. لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، وَالْخَيْرُ بِيَدَيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ
وَالْعَمَلُ
مسلم
Translation:
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am at Your service. Your pleasure is my desire, and all good is in Your hand. Here I am at Your service, and my longing is towards You, and my deeds (are for You).”
3. لَبَّيْكَ إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ لبيك
احمد
Translation:
“Here I am, O true God, here I am.”
4. لبيك ذا النعماء والفضل الحسن لبيك ، لبيك مرهوبا ومرغوبا إليك
Translation:
“Here I am, O Allah, You are the source of all blessings and beautiful & excellent virtue & goodness. Here I am, with referential fear & desirous of You.”
**5. لبيك حقا حقا
لبيك عدد التراب
لبيك غفار الذنوب لبيك**
Translation:
“Here I am, truly, truly. Here I am, as numerous as the granules of soil. Here I am, O Forgiver of sins. Here I am”
6. وروى ابن أبي شيبة في ” المصنف ” (4/283) عن المسور بن مخرمة قال : ” كانت تلبية عمر :
لبيك اللهم لبيك , لبيك لا شريك لك لبيك , إن الحمد والنعمة لك والملك , لا شريك لك ، لبيك مرغوبا أو مرهوبا , لبيك ذا النعماء والفضل الحسن ” .
Translation:
“Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated in “Al-Musannaf” (4/283) from Masuwr ibn Makhramah that he said: ‘Umar’s talbiyyah was: ‘Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner. Here I am. Indeed, all praise and blessings are Yours, and so is the dominion. You have no partner. Here I am, with referential fear & desirous of You. Here I am, O Allah, You are the source of all blessings and goodness.'”
**7. لبيك وسعديك ، والخير بيديك ، والشر ليس إليك ، نحن عبادك الوافدون إليك ، الراغبون فيما لديك
لبيك إن العيش عيش الآخرة
لبيك حقاً حقاً تعبداً ورقاً **
Translation:
“Here I am, and Your pleasure is my desire. All good is in Your hand, and evil is not from You. We are Your servants who come to You, longing for what You have. Here I am, for (true) life is (only) the life of the Hereafter. Here I am, truly, truly, in worship and obedience.”
Meaning of “Labbayk”:
“Here I am” in response to a call.
“My intention and purpose is towards You.”
“My sincerity and devotion are for You.”
“I am a servant who is constantly obeying You.”
Meaning of “Sa’dayk”:
“Please grant me Your pleasure repeatedly.”
“Help me in my obedience to You continuously.”
