Our First Lecture in Madinah

Our first lecture was on ayatul Kursi.  This lecture was given to us by Shaykh Abdur-Razzaq Al Abad may Allah preserve him, ameen. Until then I never realized how much of a proof of Tawheed this ayat was. Considering the fact that Tawheed is the most important concept there is, this was an excellent choice for the first lecture and I could see the effects on my classmates. In these first days together what I witnessed from everyone involved in this seminar was a great deal of sincerity and desire to acquire and preserve the knowledge of this deen and love, kindness, patience, genuine concern and care for each other. It was so beautiful. It was all from Allah. Every step of the way my conviction that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah was strengthened. We also had a lecture on the seerah of the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam. The Shaykh brought to our attention that there was not a better place to learn about the life of the Prophet, salallahu alaihi wa sallam, than Madinah. And he was right because later when we were out and about and at the Masjid what we learned seemed to come to life. Life….. The Scholars were so full of life and wisdom. The lectures were what life is all about, learning this deen Fisibilillah and putting it into practice. Though saturated in memories of being with the scholars, my mind still moist with words of wisdom I must take a moment to mention some other details of the trip. See next post.
